The Truth About 'Ghin-Ghin'!

Ghin-ghin.
The word itself has a ring to it[:D]. Yes, ghin-ghin is a state of mind which each person experiences in some way or the other. Ghin-ghin knows no caste, no religion, no political disposition. Ghin-ghin is inevitable, its a part of life. Some people live with this as a way of life[:D].

A few commonly used words/ phrases (just by me, so far..:)):

ghinghinisation threshold: the second/minute beyond which one enters the inertial frame of mind

inertia (hail Newton, we all love you!):
the property by virtue of which a person resists a change in the state of activity unless acted upon by an external unbalanced force(e.g. food, physical force, emotional blackmail, etc depending on the degree of resistance :D)

inertia for stubborn people:
the state of mind wherein the stubborn person does not feel like starting off with a task OR finishing a task at hand, unless faced with an incentive that acts like a driving force similar to the ones mentioned above-again, depending on the nature of stubbornness..:D

deghinghinisation: provision of chocolate cake to the person under the influence of ghinghin

I guess I'm under the influence of ghinghin myself at this moment, I can sense the need for urgent salvation from it. That's all.

MY Theory of Relativity

About a century ago, the one and only Albert Einstein gave the world his 'Theory of Relativity' (though the term was coined by another great individual ; this is irrelevant here:P). The whole world, especially the scientists have been in awe of this great man; but today in 2008, with all due respect to Einstein and his work, I believe that there are a handful of words in the English language that truly define 'relativity'.
What makes one the person he/she is? Well, yeah this has been the point in many of my other blogs, but it really is that intriguing. So in another of my 'pensive' moods, I'd just been thinking- how much should things/people around us be responsible for making us the people we are? Inspiration knows no rules and no boundaries (yeah well the original one goes like-'love' knows no rules and no boundaries:P), but there are these words I like to call the five 'relatives'- right, wrong, true, false, and last but not the least-convenient. These five relatives are THE most relative words I've come across. There isn't a single person in the world who can know the exact value of all fives in their true sense. Well yes I'm coming to that-there IS the great 'Master of Puppets' (thank you Metallica :)) , up there who knows everything , but besides Him, no one.
So it's all about being in the right place at the right time and doing the right thing-as per individual concern:P. That's the thing really- who gets to decide in a given situation what exactly is right or wrong? Well we do have a fair legal system to settle disputes arising from a difference in opinion on the 'relatives'- but then what about the "inner conflict"? LOL . I know this sounds really profound, intense AND maybe silly to some, but no one can deny its existence. What does an average person do when faced with the "inner conflict" I mentioned- some meditate, some take advice, some act on impulse, while some decide to 'skip it' (another awesome concept I'll be writing about in another different blog..:)). But nobody can really say what's the best thing to do, since every situation calls for a different treatment. Well, I've really strayed from my point here. I think that each person does what's in his/her stead in a particular moment. And the rest is left to destiny; or as non-believers would prefer- to God; OR as atheists would prefer it-to just going with the flow.
And really it becomes evident to each person- the five relatives. It's a thing no one can ignore.
But the best way to deal with anything- five relatives or five real relatives-whatever it is that is to be avoided-eat chocolate cheese cake, burn the calories with some rigorous work out AND sleep soundly.:). So that's the whole point- applies to any situation. Chocolate is life. Period.

The Pensieve

Yes, the very famous 'pensieve' created by J. K. Rowling. It's really cool how authors have the freedom to create anything they want. I mean the thought of a device that allows one to store memories sounds really exciting..so for that matter, even a regular blogger could well create anything..like say a 'rorrim'. :D. Yeah, you guessed right, that's 'mirror' spelled backwards. And I just happened to create it.:P. Dunno what it might mean if it were to any degree an inspiration to J. K. Rowling. (Heck. The Harry Potter series is over). Anyway, this was probably just something that forced its own expression from my mind. A lot of things generally do; just like that. I wonder what would happen if I never let a single thought escape from my mind..now that's a very scary thought. It's not like I always expect an opinion on whatever I say, but here's when I feel a real pensieve is just what's needed. But Imagine. I'd be deprived of the chance to blabber out my mind to a listener every time I used it.:D which would hardly be entertaining to me. (Yes, about 90% of my 'express yourself' sessions are purely recreational :D..yes, what's life without a lot of talking..:)
So it's like I have real-life 'pensieves' in my life- my parents, my sister, my friends- all of them, to their own capacities (and most of the times even exceeding them) do full justice to being receptive to my thoughts. I would really be a gloomy git had it not been for all these indispensable people around me..:) It takes probably a minute for a writer to think of an imaginary device and pen down the idea; but it takes a lot of love, patience and compassion for MY 'pensieves' to be the way they are to me. Not to be sentimental in the least, I just say that I'm glad I'm 'writing' my own life..:).. It's all about what you include in your story at every point that makes the experience a fulfilling one. It's all about the people who make you-you.

No matter how self-made a person might be, there's a streak in him/her of EACH and every person he/she meets. Sounds crazy, but I believe in whatever i write.. :D.
So be careful the next time you meet a crazy character..this streak's permanent :).

The FOOD factor- you either have it or you don't!

Hehe..yes, I believe there's a lot of importance attached to the whole hype created about FOOD. People make a career out of the most unimaginable things related to food. Like recently I read about a person who is a 'food stylist' and another who's a 'food photographer'. Nice. This would have been labeled silly a few decades ago. But now-a-days it's all about style. Be it on the fashion front OR for food. For the hard-core foodies like me, the idea of 'food styling' is something to look forward to. There's so much conveyed by just the arrangement of food items at a buffet dinner- with me it's like this- if it appeals to the eyes, the body takes it in well. I mean the thought of an artistically-designed salad appeals to me just as much as a plain rich dark chocolate cake..[:)]
As for the food photographer..well it sounds very interesting. His job is to make the food look as tempting and inviting as possible..(even if it might be prepared by the people who will never qualify as cooks)..Now that's a very intriguing new idea that's come up. Shooting a platter of desserts from different angles all day long, arranging and re-arranging garnishes to make the dish look like something straight from heaven..the good life...[:D]. This may mean nothing to those who stand by the ideal 'eat to live'. But those who 'live to eat'.. well only they will be receptive to this aspect of food..[:)]..(though foodies are generally receptive to anything to do with food..lol)..so whatever happens out there, you can always rely on food to make your day..who says you can't have the cake and eat it too?..I'd say have your cake, have it styled by a food stylist, shot by a food photographer, dig into it, and then cherish the memories of amazing experience...[:)]..After all, life IS a 'piece of cake'..[:)]

The Last Mistake- "OTMT"

It's really funny how the phrase 'once too many times' originated. Maybe it was coined by someone who was trying in vain to stick to a diet, but 'unintentionally' feasted on chocolate cake "once too many times". Or maybe by an innocent lad who knew the right from wrong but conveniently ignored his conscience "O-T-M-T" before finally coming to terms with the inner voice. They say making mistakes is the stepping stone to the art of learning anything. Well, in that case children/teenagers should be the most learned people around. I'm only generalizing here; because that doesn't have to imply that grown-ups never make mistakes. Yes, another very cliched thing to say- but that generation gap implying the hiatus in the maturity levels will always prevail. This may sometimes be falcified because there is a lot of potential in the youth to overtake grown-ups when it comes to sensible and balanced living.
Well I strayed from the point, but I'm always tempted to include a little something about the generation gap whenever I express myself. So anyway, I feel that this whole story behind erring n learning is not something I think I buy easily; maybe eventually, but not easily. One probably keeps making the same mistakes over and over again, knowing the consequences; and then probably takes refuge in old sayings like mistakes help you learn better. Of course, no one denies there is some sense in that though. However, there can be no single person who can claim to have always done the right thing; the obvious reason being Murphy's Law (yes, unfortunate as the law may seem to a lot of people, it really comes on strong) - "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong", and the other being the fact that 'right' and 'wrong' are relative terms (and thank God for that- otherwise we'd have a perfect world with no fun at all).
A little conflict keeps the world going, I guess. The best thing about making mistakes is the risk that it involves. It's like an adrenaline rush to some, while for others it's probably the devil in them that later forces them to be hard on themselves. So again it's the triumph of the people who keep saying 'just live it' like I mentioned a few days ago. Well, reluctantly and incompletely convinced, nonetheless I'm forced to agree that all the philosophy that is a part of life, tells you best what NOT to be perturbed by; but what you GOTTA do is all eventually detached from philosophy.
So the bottom line- it's cool to make mistakes, it's your own life you're living because "OTMT" is a part of the "Standard Book of (In)Sane Peoples' Every-day Phrases".

Destiny-What you make of your life or what your life makes you?

Yes, for those who believe in karma, the total concept of destiny might sound a bit far-fetched; but of late, I've come to believe that it's all a matter of perspective. Why are some people remembered with regard to the phrase 'self-made'? I mean definitely XYZ person does work really hard to get what he/she really wants, but then again one cannot entirely deny the subtle presence of 'destiny' that does have a standing in every achievement or any event for that matter. It's probably not wrong to say that anything in life can be achieved with determination coupled with hard work. Yet there is this void that counts, that is based totally on the individual perspective like I said. For some, that void could be filled by luck, or by the (un?)fortunate prevelance of nepotism, bribery and corruption, or just by faith- in oneself, in God OR it may just remain a void. In other words, what one makes of one's life is in fact the product of the three elements I just mentioned. Some may also rightly stick to just the first two and be content, but no one can deny the fact that that 'void' will definitely voice itself at some point in everyone's life; at different times, in different situations.
It's funny how sometimes silly things, events in the day can lead one to a line of thought that one never knew existed. I mean if you're really in a vacant mood sometime, just try and think about 'what makes your life' ; you will be amazed or stupefied at some of the things that pop up in your mind. Well, of course there are some people who just like to keep away from such schools of thought (and conveniently snub you by saying 'why think of it, just live it'..Ok agreed it's a little pointless to ponder over such profound ideas, but heck i did mention clearly, 'when you're in a vacant mood..'..:P). Anyway, coming back to the point-yeah I quite believe in destiny, but at the end of the day it's YOU and YOUR effort they say.
By the way, who's the 'they' here?? Thinkers or philosophers I guess. But it scares me what 'thinkers' and 'philosophers' of the present times are going to give to the common man. Of course the ideals that have expressed and proved themselves over the centuries will not change much, but with the changing times, the definitions of good, bad, ugly [:D] will keep changing. Anyway, whatever surfaces, all that can be said is that all's fair. So yes I'd go with the people who say 'just live it'. Fair. And lovely. Yes, life is fair and lovely. (LOL)

'Why only me'..??- nope-it's only your turn under the grind!!

"Why me!?" is a phrase that's often used as a means to make oneself feel grand. Yes, i say grand because the phrase does not have a profound meaning at all (maybe it's limited to self-pity, nothing more). I believe everyone goes through the same things in life. Now I'm only generalizing here; for example, every individual does have his/her ups and downs at some point of time. So it's never 'why me'. It IS in fact 'everyone' but just at different times and different time zones maybe. It might sound a bit far-fetched, though it's nothing but a hypothesis. And a hypothesis cannot be challenged, I mean, is there any way to disprove what I mentioned about everyone facing everything? Really now, can anyone possibly keep a tab on everyone's life and find out whether or not he/she has or hasn't been a victim of the 'why me' phase? So it's not entirely wrong. It is totally agreed that one cannot, should not and must not compare the ups and downs of different people, but then it just proves the individuality of each person. For some like me, even a shut-down of my favourite cake-shop can be a major 'down' (and then people think I'm mad) ; and maybe for some others, even a minor setback academically may not pass for a 'down'. So it's as simple as it gets. Each one is unique, with his/her own capacity to deal with life's ups and downs, and that's what makes it easy for like-minded people to co-exist or contrasting personalities to healthily argue over a point. And voila! I just imparted knowledge on the theory of life..:D. It's not always a great thinker you have to listen to. Life itself teaches one what no one or nothing else can. As cliched as that sounded, it's very true (because it's the same thing again- can you reflect on your life after it has been lived, to check what you learnt, and whether or not it could have been a different learning process? Heck, here again there is a whole untouched aspect of re-incarnation and re-birth, so I guess I can sense God willing me to stop!). Anyway, these are some things not well-received by thousands of people, so if you can't beat them, join them-sing, dance, enjoy, live the good life.period.
